When we think of time management the first things that come to mind are organizing clutter, setting goals, and working on our tasks with efficiency. Of course these are the top focus-points when it comes to managing our time, but you never hear advice om improving areas in our life that may have an indirect effect on our time, energy, and resources.
One such example is getting enough sleep. By getting enough quality sleep each night, our energy levels are maintained high throughout the day and into the jobs at hand. Below are a few tips help you get the rest you need, without the disruptions that invariably leads to loss of sleep:
1. Remove the telephone from your bedroom. By taking the phone out your sleeping quarters, you will not be disturbed at night when resting. Simply use an answering machine in another room.
2. Go to bed before 10pm. Trust me, your body will thank you. They say that for every hour in bed before midnight, it feels like two the next day.
3. Avoid drinking both caffeine and alcohol five hours before retiring to bed. Both of these substances can have a very negative affect on your sleeping habits.
